HYDERABAD: The new syllabus for Group I, II, III, IV and several other competitive examinations in Telangana will be finalised by month end, according to Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC). The new syllabus will include history, geography, Telangana movement from 1969 and other aspects relating to the culture of the new state.
The academic panel which was constituted to frame the new syllabus will submit its final report with its suggestions and recommendations on January 29 and it will be announced after the approval of TSPSC members. The panel, which met here at TSPSC office on Saturday, discussed several aspects of the new syllabus.
“As announced earlier, there will be a few minor changes in the syllabus which are not significant,’’ said Prof Kodandaram, one of the members of the panel. Considering the future of aspirants who have been preparing for the exams for a long time, the panel has decided to retain the existing exam pattern. However, the new syllabus would be different from the earlier one, Kodandaram explained.
Addressing newsmen after the meeting, the TSPSC members said, the history of Telangana and Telangana movement would be included in the syllabus. At the same time, the history and culture of Andhra Pradesh would be replaced by that of Telangana. The academic panel divided itself into sub- committees and each sub panel is working on different aspect of the syllabus.
