No Caste Angle to CBI Case: Geetha

Express News Service

HYDERABAD: Congress MLA and former minister for industries J Geetha Reddy has said that their names were included by the CBI in the quid pro quo case on technical basis.

“The names of several officials and ministers were included in the list. It is not the question of one particular caste,” she said in the Assembly on Wednesday when  TRS member Rasamai Balakishan alleged that Geetha Reddy’s name was included in the charge-sheet as she was a Dalit.

Balakishan said the Congress had neglected  Dalits and did not care even for Geetha Reddy. Responding to this, the former minister said that their names were included for the mistakes of someone else.  “As we were ministers, technically our names were included. It is not correct to say that my name was included because I am a Dalit,” she explained. There were charges and counter-charges between TRS and Congress members on who neglected Dalits. Finally, the issue was settled when Geetha Reddy wanted the chief minister to look into the files on quid pro quo cases and come to a conclusion.
