Man Murders Pregnant Wife in Telangana

MAHABUBNAGAR (Telangana): A man allegedly killed his pregnant wife after heated exchange of words over family matters, police said today.

The incident took place last night in Devarakadra town of this district and the accused, Venkateshwar Reddy, has been detained for questioning, Deputy Superintendent of Police (Gadwal Division) Bala Koti said.

Reddy (28), a resident of Muchinthal village near here, and his wife Anitha (22), had a love marriage in 2010.

The couple had been residing in Devarakadra since the last six months, he said.

Last night, a verbal fight broke out between Reddy and his wife, who was pregnant, over some family matters. The man, in a fit of rage, strangled his wife using a piece of cloth, the police officer said.

The murder came to light this morning after which police filed a case and detained the accused. Further investigation was on.
