HYDERABAD: The long wait of the TRS cadre is set to end by Dasara as the party has decided to fill nominated posts and key party positions.
The decision is due to cadre’s unhappiness that despite the party completing one and a half years of governance, the leadership has not ‘rewarded’ them.
The decision was announced by party’s senior leader and home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy at a press conference here on Thursday.
“As per the chief minister’s directions, nominated posts in market, temple and library committees will be filled by Dasara,” he said, adding that ministers were advised to take the lead in preparing the lists of posts and aspirants.
He said the party leadership wanted newer faces in these posts without causing heartburn to senior workers of the party.
Five or six MLAs are said to be vying for key positions like RTC chairman.
As for the party posts, the party has decided to have small Politburo and state committee unlike in the past. The party chief wants representation to all constituencies in the district committees.
The next legislature party (TRSLP) meeting will be held after Dasara to fill posts in party-affiliated committees, it is learnt.
As the opposition is launching a united attack on the government, party chief and chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao wanted party legislators and workers not to form groups but to work together. The party leadership would take a serious note of any attempt to form groups in the party, he warned.
