KHAMMAM: Koya tribes took out massive rally in the town and conducted Poru Garjana at Dharna Chowk in front of the collector's office in the town  on Thursday demanding Lambadas be removed from Schedule Tribe (ST) list.
Addressing Poru Garjana, Bhadrachalam MLA Sunnam Rajaiah warned of intensifying agitation in case the state government failed to remove Lambadas from the ST list. He also said that the issue would be taken to Assembly.
He also demanded the government to protect the rights of Koya tribes as they were much behind in terms of development. The MLA alleged that the Lambadas have been grabbing all the chances that are meant for tribal communities.
He appealed to the government for strict implementation of GO 3 which would protect the tribals. He called upon the tribals to come forward to fight for the protection of rights.
He also demanded the government to issue pattas to those tribals who have been cultivating podu lands. Adivasi state leaders Mukti Bhaskar Rao, Borra Tirupataiah, Komaram Rambabu and Karam Pullaiah also participated in the rally.
