HYDERABAD: A 29-year-old medico A Srikanth Goud, who was kidnapped in Delhi on July 6 by an Ola cab driver, was rescued by the Delhi police on Wednesday. The police would hand over the rescued medico to his uncle Narayana Goud, who is also a doctor in Delhi.
The family members of Srikanth Goud living in Gadwal expressed their happiness after learning that their son was rescued. Srikanth’s cousin Srinivas Goud said that his brother was rescued by the UP and Delhi police from the kidnappers and handed over to their family members in Delhi. Srikanth Goud is likely to come to Gadwal on Thursday.
On July 6, Srikanth Goud, working in a private hospital, hired a cab to reach a metro train station to catch train to go to his house. However, the Ola cab driver drove the car to Dadri near Noida and then other members of the gang abducted him.
After kidnapping the medico, the miscreants made a call to the hospital and his family members demanding a ransom of `5 crore. The Delhi police, who registered a kidnap case, took up investigation. They tried to catch the gang members in Meerut, but the miscreants gave the police a slip. Cops then tracked the gang member at Haridawar but here too police ran out of luck. Finally the police located the kidnappers at Muzaffarnagar, and arrested four abducters and rescued the medico. Srikanth Goud is the son of Janardhan Goud and Bharathamma, who completed MBBS in China and was pursuing post-graduation in New Delhi.
