School assistant aspirant ends life

ADILABAD: Allegedly dejected over very few School Assistant posts being allocated to Kumrambheem district, an aspirant ended his life on Sunday. A notification on the allocation of posts was issued by the Telangana State Public Service Commission on Saturday.

The 27-year-old A Sandeep hanged himself with an electric wire at his residence in Kagaznagar town. Police said Sandeep had completed MSc, BEd and was preparing for the post over past few months.
“In a suicide note left behind, Sandeep claimed he was dejected over very few seats being allocated to the district,” Sub Inspector MA Majeed said.

Meanwhile, in the erstwhile Adilabad district, the Teacher Recruitment Test (TRT) DSC notification came as a major relief for aspirants in the region. In Kumrambheem district, while the notification advertised 776 Second Grade Teacher (SGT) posts and less than 45 School Assistants (SA) posts. 

For Adilabad district,  231 Second Grade Teacher posts and 30 School Assistant posts have been allocated. Aspiring BEd students were upset that there was not a single Telugu Medium Maths teacher post allocated for plain areas. In agency areas, the number was in single digit.
