HYDERABAD: Making it clear that the court would monitor the case of the child abuse, trafficking and sexual exploitation in the famous Yadadri temple town and other parts of Telangana state, a division bench of the Hyderabad High Court on Tuesday directed the state government to file an affidavit informing the guidelines framed to prevent recurrence of above incidents.

While agreeing to the proposal of the state director general of police to set up a special investigation team (SIT) headed by an officer from SHE teams, the bench directed the DGP to place all case details before the court in 24 hours regarding number of cases pending in the lower courts, grant of bail to the accused and so on.

Case progress details should be informed to the court from time to time and the case would be taken up for hearing on every Tuesday and the government should give top priority to the issue, the bench noted.
The bench was passing this order in a taken up PIL case based on news reports published recently in a section of the press on “Child prostitution in the temple town of Telangana state”.  When the matter came up for hearing, special counsel of Telangana S Sharat Kumar submitted that there were no evidences to prove that the child victims were administered hormonal injections.

While adjourning the case to next Tuesday, the bench directed the police to ensure that the victims were under the cover of women police officials and that they were taken to above hospital with proper security.
