Enforcement Directorate raids BRS MLA Gudem Reddy, his brother in Telangana

About eight premises, including the premises of a quarrying company linked to the duo, are being searched, the sources said.

HYDERABAD: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials on Thursday conducted raids on the offices and residences of Patancheru BRS MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy, his brother Gudem Madhusudan Reddy and his relative as part of an alleged illegal mining-linked money laundering case, according to sources.

The ED is carrying out searches at eight places in Patancheru, Hyderabad and Nizampet areas. The ED officials searched at a mining crusher in Begumpet in Patancheru Assembly segment, Lakadaram, office of the MLA located in a function hall located in Patancheru and also at Miyapur. The ED is also carrying out searches at the residence of a close relative of the MLA in Nizampet.

Recently, the State Mines and Geology department slapped notices on the MLA to pay the seigniorage amount to the tune of Rs 341.25 crore.

MLA's brother Madhusudan Reddy was arrested in March this year as part of the investigation by the local police.
