SANGAREDDY: A 25-year-old nurse, who was recently released on bail in connection with the alleged murder of her parents, died by suicide at a women’s hostel here late on Sunday night. The deceased was identified as Nakkali Surekha.
According to police, Surekha, a native of Yacharam village in Vikarabad district, worked at a private hospital in Sangareddy. She was in a relationship with a man from Kondapur mandal, but her parents, Nakkali Dasaratham, 58, and Lakshmi, 54, allegedly opposed the relationship on caste grounds.
Police said Surekha stole anaesthetic injections from her workplace and administered an overdose to her parents. The couple died in their sleep. After police found anaesthetic injections near the couple’s house, Surekha confessed to the crime. Following her recent release on bail, Surekha moved into a local hostel. Police said she was under mental stress and injected herself with the same anaesthetic drug.
