If sources close to the unit of Gautham Menon’s Dhruva Natchathiram are to go by, Anu Emmanuel who was originally signed on to be paired with Vikram, has walked out of the project and has been replaced by Ritu Varma of Pellichoopulu (2016) fame.

“Ritu has already started shooting for the film. Anu chose to leave because she had date issue as the project’s shoot was getting pushed because of Vikram’s decision to begin work on his next with Vijay Chander,” a source told CE.

Gautham had approached Ritu for the Tamil remake of Pellichoopulu, but the offer eventually went to Tamannaah but the Kaakha Kaakha (2003) filmmaker was in touch with Ritu, and when Anu wanted to exit Dhruva Natchathiram, he brought her on board. “Ritu and Vikram don’t play typical hero and heroine. They share a very mature relationship in the film and that will be one of the highlights.”

Meanwhile, the team of Dhruva Natchathiram recently returned from Coonor after completing the first schedule. Actor-filmmaker R Parthiepan is likely to play a pivotal role. “The team has been in talks with him for long. If he comes on board, he won’t be playing the baddie despite rumours. We are yet to finalise the villain and it will take a few more weeks.” Harris Jayaraj is said to have already completed recording one song for the album.
