The Tamil remake of Pellichoopulu (2016) has been titled Pon Ondru Kanden, starring Vishnu Vishal and Tamannaah Bhatia. The project bankrolled by Gautham Vasudev Menon is directed by Senthil Veerasamy. Pon Ondru Kanden is the famous song from the Sivaji Ganesan’s Padithal Mattum Podhuma (1962). Vishnu is quite exited to collaborate with Gautham. “I had no qualms about doing the film because the original was already a hit. The director is making a few changes to the script to suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audience,” the actor told CE. Currently, the film is in pre-production stages. Pellichoopulu was directed by Tharun Bhasckar Dhaassyam is a gentle take on educated women and modern-day romance.
