HYDERABAD: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday termed the reorganisation of revenue districts as the greatest administrative reform in the recent past.

Conducting a review on the preparedness of senior officials of various departments on starting the administration in 31 districts from Dasara, Rao directed the officials to set up department promotional committee (DPCs) in each department and promote employees for the upgraded posts required for the 21 new districts. Stating that the government engaged a lots of officials and staff for Mission Bhagiratha and for construction of irrigation projects, he said, “Make use of these staff for  works in other departments, once Mission Bhagiratha and construction of irrigation projects are completed.” He  said there will be more work in some departments and not so much in others in all districts, so adjustments have to be made. Realignment of departments should be done, he said and directed IAS officers to visit other states to study their structures.
