HYDERABAD:  Referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s recent speech delivered during the Gujarat election campaign in which Modi reportedly said it was not possible to provide fresh reservations’ quota for any community exceeding the current 50 per cent cap fixed by the Supreme Court on total quota of all reservations, Congress Party wanted to know from the Chief Ministers of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh- K Chandrasekhar Rao and N Chandrababu Naidu, how they will implement their promise of enhancing total quota of  reservations above 50 per cent of the upper limit set by the apex court.

Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir said, “PM’s recent statement clearly exposed political opportunism of both KCR and Naidu. It shows that CM KCR is deliberately misleading Muslims and STs with false assurances that their respective reservations’ quota will be increased. AP CM Naidu is also trying to hoodwink numerically strong Kapus in Andhra by promising to grant them BC status so as to avail reservations.”
