The state government has banned all online games with stakes. The amended ordinance was promulgated on Saturday providing more clarity on the ordinance promulgated first on June 17 banning online rummy.

HYDERABAD: The state government has banned all online games with stakes. The amended ordinance was promulgated on Saturday providing more clarity on the ordinance promulgated first on June 17 banning online rummy.

Accordingly, the amended ordinance, the Telangana Gaming (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 2017, bans “gaming with stakes” which include matka, satta or online games. Wagering or betting, collection or soliciting of bets is also banned now. The receipt or distribution of winnings or prizes in money or otherwise in respect of any wager or bet; any act which is intended to aid, induce, solicit of facilitate wagering or betting or such collection were also banned.
