Calling the Shots of His Success

The aim is to flatter customers with quirky presentations, top class service and scrumptious dishes made by experienced chefs.

Just like Alexander Pope, the celebrated English poet who once famously said, “To err is human, to forgive, divine,” Director of Lite Bite Foods Pvt. Ltd, Rohit Aggarwal, who recently launched his new gastropub Bottoms Up, strongly believes that mistakes are the clearest prisms through which one can see shortcomings clearly. If mistakes are made in the process, one should have the magnanimity to forgive, he believes. Experiencing both sides in good measures has today made him a seasoned restaurateur who operates out of a sense of discernment, that with each dining concept he introduces, gets further polished.

At Bottoms Up, it’s all about pub food that’s simple yet eccentric, according to Aggarwal. “Our aim is to flatter customers with quirky presentations, top class service and scrumptious dishes made by our experienced chefs,” says Aggarwal, adding, “I believe that even a small mistake can make or break one’s experience; therefore, there must be constant innovation and experiment to bring quality and expressionism onto one’s plate.”

The menu looks comprehensive. One item that’s good value for money is the 99 Club Chakhna—a  platter that offers six types of tidbits with varying degrees of sourness, spiciness and crunchiness. Another smart creation from the kitchen is the Salad in Kadak Rumali Roti, with Gujarati and Thai influences. Other items like Bunny Chow, a Durban-inspired South African classic, is one preparation that Aggarwal loves. “For weight watchers, we have air fryer dishes such as Lettuce-wrapped Vietnamese Rolls, Hand-carved Vegetable Crispies, and Country Fries,” he says. To say the least, there are enough edible items being dished out from the busy kitchen, but there’s more than enough to cheers to at the bar. Beer such as Miller, Kingfisher Ultra, Heinekin, Stella Artois Draft and others are being offered. Besides that, signature drinks include Flaming Lamborghini (kahlua, baileys, sambuca and blue curcao), Chilly Hot Chocolate (tequila, baileys, kahlua and tabasco), As You Enter (campari, sweet vermouth), Feeling High (sambuca, tequila, tabasco) and more. There’s even a drink to end the night on a note of being happily high— Good Night (baileys, Malibu, whisky). Until we meet again.
