NEW DELHI:  Taking a cue from PM Narendra Modi’s Rig Vedic idea of India—‘Aano Bhadra Krtavo Yantu Vishwatah’ (Let noble thoughts come to us from across the world)—the NDA government’s second Padma awards list may have a global sheen with a nationalist tinge. It is learnt that the recipients of this year’s Padma awards—Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Padma Shri—could include Indian-born actress, food writer and TV personality Madhur Jaffrey, Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jhumpa Lahiri, American entrepreneur-turned-teacher Salman ‘Sal’ Khan and Chinese yoga icon Zhang Hui Lan (known as Wai Lana).
