New Heights

1985-batch IPS officer Dharmender Kumar, who was Special CP (law and order) when a bomb blast took place in the high court in 2011, is finally set to become Director General of Railway Protection Force. The AGMUT-cadre officer, who has been with the Delhi Police for a long tenure, was last year transferred to CISF. Kumar was also in the race for Delhi police chief’s post and finally got DG empanelled.

Friendly Gesture

An apologetic gesture by a special CP, who is famous among young IPS officers for his polite attitude, has set an example for other officers in the fraternity.

When the special CP came to know that a young ACP had to wait for more than an hour to meet him, he offered him to have tea with him as a positive gesture to say sorry. The officer felt so obliged that after leaving the Police Headquarters, he shared his experience in WhatsApp groups praising the Special CP’s gesture.

Don’t Cross the Line

Old habits die hard. Similar is the case with these two area SHOs, who are facing the heat, for taking instructions from ex-special commissioner even after his transfer from Delhi Police. Senior district officers have warned the SHOs not to take direct instructions or involve other officers without prior information to the district head. During a meeting, senior officers told the staff that their master has changed and they should respect him.

No More Excuses

Pulling up the district DCPs over pendency of cases, Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik, in a crime review meeting, directed the officers to solve the cases at the earliest. In the meeting that was attended by top officials, CP got angry after a DCP tried to give an excuse for not being able to solve the cases. He also asked them to clear VVIP complaints on priority-basis.
