A gang allegedly exploited the official website, girlion.gujarat.gov.in, to create an artificial shortage of lion safari permits and sell them at triple the original price on the black market. Authorities have launched an investigation into the racket, which has affected hundreds of tourists and damaged the credibility of the state’s tourism system.
