On October 10th, the Kochi Police arrested three people for murdering two women in a case of human sacrifice. The gruesome case has made national headlines and shocked the people of Kerala, considered one of India's most progressive states. Bhagaval Singh, an ayurvedic healer in Elanthoor, his wife Laila, and Mohammed Shafi alias Rasheed, a self-proclaimed sorcerer, was arrested for the abduction and murder of Tamil Nadu native Padmam and Thrissur native Rosily.
