Sikkim: At Least 7 tourists dead, 11 injured in avalanche; Rescue operations underway

At least 7 tourists were killed and a dozen injured after an avalanche struck the Gangtok-Nathu La road in Sikkim on April 4. The Border Roads Organisation (BRO) said 22 tourists have been rescued till now. A search and rescue mission is presently underway by the Army, SDRF, and police. A lady was rescued after being buried under snow for one and a half hours. Miraculously, she was still breathing.
