Opposition leaders call special Parliament session BJP's poll gimmick before state elections

The centre will convene a ‘special session’ in the Parliament ahead of the Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu on April 23, and West Bengal polls on April 23 and 29. The government recently proposed an early delimitation exercise to fast-track the implementation of the Women’s Reservation Act. A Constitutional amendment bill to amend Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam and another bill to tweak Delimitation Act were proposed. The Opposition has demanded an all-party meeting to discuss the roadmap.
