Actor-turned-politician Vijay’s father, S A Chandrasekhar, on Wednesday urged the Congress to forge an alliance with his son’s party, Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), claiming it could help the party regain its lost glory in Tamil Nadu.

However, the suggestion was rejected by Tamil Nadu Congress Committee chief K Selvaperunthagai, who said that Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is already providing all the “boost” the party needs.
