The Supreme Court gave an order that only Hindu, Sikh, or Buddhist communities can claim Schedule Caste status. A two-judge bench of Justices P K Mishra and Manmohan gave the verdict on March 24. The appeal was filed by Pastor Chinthada Anand, alleging caste-based discrimination, against an AP High Court order from May 2025.
