Sri Lanka gets woman Prime Minister after nearly quarter century

Harini Amarasuriya was sworn in as Sri Lanka's Prime Minister in Colombo on September 24. She became the 16th Prime Minister and third woman leader of the country after Sirimavo Bandaranaike and Chandrika Kumaratunga. The 54-year-old was sworn in as PM a day after the newly-elected Anura Kumara Dissanayake took charge as President.
