Final French results show Macron on 24.01%, Le Pen 21.30%

The results reflect only slight changes over the previous results from Sunday's vote, in which the two candidates qualified for a May 7 run-off.

PARIS:  Final results released Monday from the first round of France's presidential vote show pro-EU centrist Emmanuel Macron on 24.01 percent and far-right leader Marine Le Pen at 21.30 percent.

The results reflect only slight changes over the previous results from Sunday's vote, in which the two candidates qualified for a May 7 run-off.

Scandal-hit conservative Francois Fillon finished third with 20.01 percent followed by Communist-backed Jean-Luc Melenchon on 19.58 percent.
