Reactions to the brutal murder of Pakistani model and sensation queen Qandeel Baloch refuses to die down days after she was killed by her own brother. Her death, which was claimed to be an honour killing, attracted reactions in extremes of both outrage, regret and condemnation.

But one of the reaction that stood out in the crowd was by one cleric, who stated that Qandeel's killing was a "lesson for other."

Recently. Mufti Abdul Qawi, a Pakistani cleric, who was earlier suspended from a religious body for having selfies with Qandeel Baloch said that the incident was a lesson for others.

Qawi said, "Those who intend to or humiliate clerics must learn from Qandeel Baloch's fate". He also was criticised last month after Baloch posted her selfies with him after a meeting.

He further said, "People should realise that religious clerics are the pious face of Islam and they should not dare to play with their reputation or try to malign them otherwise they will face the curse of God. I had convinced Qandeel to repent on her sins and asked her to come towards the right path. I had even offered her a marriage proposal in her new life".

According to reports, Qandeel had also received threats from the Mufti Qawi's supporters for humiliating him on public platforms after which she had even asked for security from the interior ministry. However, she was denied the security.

Qandeel Baloch, who was gruesomely strangled to death by her younger brother, was laid to rest in her ancestral village Shah Saddardin.
