NEW DELHI: Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee on Tuesday assured the investors that their money is safe and said that the Government will take appSVropriate measures in the bribe-for-loan scam.

“Investors’ money in public sector institutions is quite safe. All appropriate measures will be taken but it’s not possible for me to give any detailed indicSVation,” Mukherjee assured investors on the sidelines of a a two-day international conference on ‘Economic Policies for Inclusive Development’, Mukherjee

“So far the issue is concerned, we are examining it but one point I would like to emphasise is that there is no need of pressing the panic button. I am in talks with the Governor of RBI and LIC Chairman,” said Mukherjee.

Meanwhile,  Vijay Kumar Sharma as assumed charge as Director & Chief Executive of LIC Housing Finance Limited at a board SVmeeting held on Tuesday.

Sharma, aged 52, hasSV held many important positions in his career spanning almost three decades in all the Zones of LIC. Prior to his appointment as Director & Chief Executive of LIC Housing Finance Limited, Sharma was the Zonal Manager of the South Zone of LIC of India since 2009.
