BANGALORE: Now, members of the bar are divided over the alleged corruption charges against Chief Justice P D Dinakaran.

Advocate General Ashok Harnahalli on Saturday urged the Chief Justice to sit in the first court and conduct judicial proceedings.

Ashok Harnahalli and K N Subbareddy, president of Federation of Bar Association in Karnataka, have openly supported Justice Dinakaran.

Harnahalli said, “A judge cannot be publicly defamed on the basis of a representation, which was submitted to the Chief Justice of India. It was not proper on the part of the members of the bar to request the Chief Justice not to participate in the judicial proceedings.,” Harnahalli said.

He also stated that several allegations made in the representation to the CJI did not merit consideration.

Meanwhile Subbareddy, president of the Federation of Bar Associations in Karnataka on Saturday condemned the resolution passed by the Advocates’ Association of Bangalore regarding asking the Chief Justice not to sit in the first court.
