NEW DELHI: Admit cards for NEET-PG examinations will now be issued on August 25, the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) announced on Monday.
Citing “unavoidable circumstances,” the NBEMS, which conducts the national-level exam for admission to postgraduate medical programs (MD, MS, and PG Diploma) across India, said the revision was carried out following requests from aspirants in flood-ravaged Assam and Meghalaya. The admit cards were to be issued on Monday.
This is the third time the NBEMS has revised the date for issuance of admit cards.
In its notice, the Board said: “As mentioned in the Information Bulletin of NEET-PG 2026, the Test City Intimation was issued on 11.08.2026. The date for release of the admit card was subsequently revised from 27.08.2026 to 24.08.2026 for the convenience of the candidates. ”
"In view of certain unavoidable circumstances and requests received with regard to Assam and Meghalaya, certain modifications are being made. Accordingly, the admit cards shall now be released on 25.08.2026 instead of 24.08.2026," the notice said.
The Board also advised candidates to rely only on information published on the official NBEMS website https://natboard.edu.in or communicated through official NBEMS following communication channels and not on rumours, unverified social-media posts or messages circulated by third parties.
On Sunday, the Board advised aspirants to stay alert and not to fall prey to fake social media handles, bogus claims and misleading advertisements claiming to provide “leaked” NEET-PG 2026 question papers.
“Such claims are false, fraudulent and intended to mislead candidates. Do not fall for rumours. Stay vigilant. Stay informed,” the advisory said.
The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) Postgraduate (PG) exam will be conducted on Sunday from 9 AM to 12:30 PM in a single shift through a Computer Based Examination (CBT) mode.
A total of 2,73,183 candidates have successfully registered for NEET-PG 2026, an increase of more than 12.5 per cent over the previous year.
The examination will be conducted in a single shift across approximately 340 cities and more than 1,300 examination centres, with over 60,000 examination functionaries deployed to ensure its smooth conduct.
This time, key changes were announced for the smooth conduct of the exam. Aspirants were allowed to choose three preferred examination centres, with their allotted test location to be communicated nearly three weeks before the exam.
The examination pattern has also been rationalised to 180 questions to be answered in 210 minutes.
