With 46,232 new COVID-19 cases and 564 deaths in the last 24 hours, the total number of positive coronavirus cases in India reached 90,50,598 on Saturday, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare informed.
The total figure includes 4,39,747 active cases and 84,78,124 recoveries.
The death toll due to the virus currently stands at 1,32,726, with 564 reported in the last 24 hours.
As per the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 10,66,022 COVID-19 samples were tested on Friday. With this, a total of 13,06,57,808 samples have been tested for the coronavirus so far.
The tally of COVID-19 cases in the Dharavi area here increased to 3,640 on Saturday with ten new infections coming to light, a civic official said. The day before, Dharavi had reported only one new case and since Monday, the number of daily new cases had not exceeded three. Of total 3,640COVID-19 cases, 3,314 patients have already recovered and discharged from hospitals. The number of active cases in the area increased to 15.
The COVID-19 tally in Nashik district of Maharashtra rose to 98,396 on Saturday with the addition of 319 fresh cases, health officials said. With six fatalities, the total COVID-19 toll mounted to 1,761 they said. A total of 252 patients were discharged from hospitals after treatment during the day, taking the count of recoveries to 94,079, the officials added.
Haryana on Saturday reported another big spike of 2,666 fresh coronavirus cases taking the caseload in the state to 2,15,021 while 25 more fatalities took the COVID-19 death toll to 2,163. Of the fresh cases, the maximum 939 were reported from the hardest-hit Gurgaon district, the second highest single-day spike so far, according to the state health department's daily bulletin.
Chhattisgarh's COVID-19 count climbed to 2,21,688 on Saturday after 2,284 people were detected with the infection, while the number of people who have recovered reached 1,98,316, a health official said. With 22 more deaths, seven of which took place on Saturday, nine on Friday and six earlier, the fatality count mounted to 2,713, he said.

The schools in Pune city will remain closed for now and will not reopen from November 23 as decided earlier, Mayor Muralidhar Mohol said on Saturday. The decision on reopening will be taken after a review meeting on December 13, he said.

Mizoram's COVID-19 tally rose to 3,607 on Saturday as 66 more people, including 15 security personnel, tested positive for the infection, an official statement said.
