NEW DELHI: Passengers can now pay for their train tickets through mVisa payment solution. mVisa is a QR (Quick Response) code based payment service that allows consumers a convenient scan and pay option through their smartphones.

Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC), a subsidiary of the Indian Railways, has launched the mVisa payment solution on their official website. Users can securely link their Visa debit, credit or prepaid account to the mVisa application and make their travel bookings by simply scanning their mVisa QR code on the IRCTC website.

The mVisa launch includes a promotion up until September 4, 2017 that offers Rs 50 cashback to consumers booking their tickets through mVisa Scan & Pay on the IRCTC website.

“Considering the phenomenal penetration of smartphones in India, moving to a mobile based payment solution such as mVisa was thus a natural choice for IRCTC. We are confident of our consumers adopting a convenient and secure payment solution such as mVisa,” said A K Manocha, CMD, IRCTC.
