HYDERABAD: In the backdrop of several TDP councillors in Medak municipality joining the Telangana Rashtra Samithi, TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao called upon all Telangana MLAs to re-submit their resignations as only such a move can help achieve a separate Telangana state.  Addressing a meeting at Telangana Bhavan here on Wednesday, he said that it was only due to the politics of Seemandhra region that the Assembly speaker N Manohar rejected the resignations of 101 MLAs.

He said that after 56 long years, Telangana political leaders are united on the Telangana issue and this unity should be preserved to achieve their goal. “If the MLAs quit once again, it would lead to a constitutional crisis and inevitably lead to the Centre delivering a separate Telangana state.  He also took strong objection to senior Seemandhra MP Kavuri Sambasiva Rao’s comment that if the Centre bifurcated the state, he would submit resignations so as to make Krishna district a separate state.  “The senior MP insulted the people of Telangana with his arrogant comments. When his own colleagues from Telangana do not want to sit along with Seemandhra MPs in Parliament, how can he force the people of Telangana to live in Andhra Pradesh state,” he said and criticised Kavuri’s “imperialistic” attitude.  He added that Telangana people have lost faith in the government and would stick to their agitation for a separate state. He further said that they would not allow chief minister Kiran Kumar Reddy to go ahead with the SI recruitment test before the deletion of clause 14f in the presidential order.  Medak MP Vijayashanti and several Medak district leaders took part in the programme.
