TIRUPATI: In what could be a setback to ruling YSRC, the party's Sathyavedu MLA Koneti Adimulam has revolted against the party leadership for shifting him to Tirupati Lok Sabha constituency in the coming elections.

The MLA was asked to contest the MP seat in place of sitting MP Dr M Gurumurthy. Gurumurthy was appointed as incharge of Sathyavedu constituency recently.

Adimulam expressed his dissatisfaction with the party leadership while interacting with the media here on Sunday. He made allegations that the YSRC has not considered his work in the constituency. It is learnt that Adimulam has made his ground ready in advance for contesting the elections in Sathyavedu.

He has been facing the heat from the local cadre of the ruling party in his Satyavedu constituency. YSRCP sources indicate that the party is seeking a 'safe candidate' to win the constituency, which, apart from the Sri City industrial zone, is economically disadvantaged.

"For 14 years, I've tirelessly supported YSRC in Sathyavedu constituency. In 2019, I won the ticket and the election through hard work, day and night. I've remained loyal to the party without any mistakes," said Adimulam.

He is likely to resign from the party and join the TDP.
