BANGALORE: As many as 12 Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officers of the state cadre would retire from the service in the coming months.

Additional Chief  Secretary K Jairaj and Home Secretary S M Jamdar will also retire soon. According to official sources, the other officers who would retire from their service after turning 60 in 2012 are K Jothiramalingam,  K H Gopalakrishne Gowda, Syed Zameer Pasha, G Ramachandra,Raghvan Suresh, I R Perumal, Ashok Kumar C Manoli, K S Shashidhara and N Sriraman.

Already five other IAS officers retired from service since January this year. They were M Shamim Banu, Anwar Pasha, K M Shivakumar, G Puttaswamy and G V Kongwad. Altogether 17 officers would retire from service in 2012 on attaining superannuation.

With the Assembly elections due in a year, many of these retired IAS officers apparently want to try his  luck at the hustings. Speaking to Express Jairaj, however, denied possibilities of his joining politics.
