TIRUVALLA: In the latest episode of the slanging match between Congress leaders, Rajya Sabha deputy chairman P J Kurien lashed out at former chief minister Oommen Chandy at a press meet held at his ancestral house in Vennikkulam on Saturday.“Oommen Chandy implemented his personal agenda by using his followers and other parties in the UDF. I will submit a complaint to the Congress high command against Chandy in this regard,” he said.
“Chandy misled the high comment by informing them that the presence of Kerala Congress will help the Congress in winning more Lok Sabha seats in Kerala. Therefore, they said that the Rajya Sabha seat should be given to Kerala Congress for pleasing them,” he said.
Kurien also rejected Chandy’s claim that he had supported Kurien’s early political career.
Meanwhile, Opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala visited Kurien on Saturday. Kurien later revealed that Chennithala had apologised to him on the Rajya Sabha seat decision.
