THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Drawing parallels between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Telangana CM Revanth Reddy on Wednesday alleged that Pinarayi Vijayan was aiding communal forces to enter the state.

Speaking at a road show in the capital, Revanth Reddy said, “Pinarayi Vijayan is no different from Narendra Modi. He is just like his shadow. There is hardly any distinction between the two. The Left government is indirectly aiding communal forces to gain a foothold in the state.”

Addressing a gathering at the Nemom constituency in support of UDF candidate K Sabarinathan, he said the LDF’s 10-year rule was coming to an end.

“Pinarayi Vijayan’s expiry date is over. Now the time has come for the UDF. We will form the government and take Kerala forward on the path of development,” said the Telangana chief minister.

In a jibe that drew loud cheers during the road show, Revanth Reddy said “Po mone Dinesha”, targeting Pinarayi Vijayan. The road show had Telugu songs playing throughout.

Claiming that Kerala had historically resisted communal politics, he alleged that the Prime Minister was now attempting to make inroads through the LDF government.

“Narendra Modi does not want to accept defeat and is trying to achieve it through Pinarayi Vijayan,” he said.

Describing Kerala as a model state in education and social development, he credited former Congress chief ministers K Karunakaran, Oommen Chandy and AK Antony for laying the foundation.

“You are hardworking and educated people. You must decide the future of Kerala,” he told voters.
