Bangalore University Vice-Chancellor B Thimme Gowda said there is no need to submit any report to the government on the confusion in the results of BBM and BCom examinations.

Gowda confirmed to Express that Higher Education Minister R V Deshpande had called him to get information on the confusion in examination results and sought a report on the same. Gowda said the university is taking steps to address problems in the evaluation system.

“I met student representatives today and got complete information from their side. I also discussed the matter with the evaluation department officials. We have also come out with certain solutions and will communicate the same to the minister,” he said.

“I was not in town on Friday when students met the minister. If I were there the issue would not have reached the minister,” Gowda said.

The university had announced the results of second semester BBM and BCom exams on September 29. But the students were shocked with the results, as  a majority of them were marked as failed. Some students who had written the exams were marked absent.
