India on Tuesday added 37,975 new COVID-19 cases to its total tally and 480 deaths in last 24 hours as per data shared by the Union Health Ministry. With this addition, the coronavirus tally in India has reached 91,77,841 while toll touched 1,34,218.
The total active cases in India stands at 4,38,667 as of Tuesday after 42,314 people were discharged in last 24 hours taking total recoveries to 86,04,955.
Kerala's fresh COVID-19 cases and recoveries hovered a little over 5,000 on Tuesday as Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan cautioned that the state should not let down its guard. The total infection count in the state mounted to5,71,641 with the addition of 5,420 cases while the recoveries touched 5,05,238 after the discharge of 5,149 people.
Ahmedabad recorded 347 COVID- 19 cases on Tuesday, the highest for any district in Gujarat, taking its tally to 48,000, while 12 people died and 362 people recovered during the day, an official said. The toll in the district is now 1,993, while the number of people discharged so far stood at 42,693, he added.
