EC has sought BJP president JP Nadda's response by Monday to the complaints filed by Opposition parties and civil society groups regarding the remarks made by PM Modi on April 21 in Banswara.
The general elections are being held in seven phases, from April 19 to June 1, to elect the 543 members of the 18th Lok Sabha. The results will be announced on June 4.
89 seats spanning across Kerala, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Manipur, Tripura and Jammu and Kashmir will go to the polls.
