India on Friday added 13,586 new COVID-19 cases for the first time in a single day, pushing the tally to 3,80,532, while the death toll rose to 12,573 with 336 new fatalities, according to the Union Health Ministry data.
In some positive news, the number of recoveries crossed the two lakh mark and stands at 2,04,710, while there are 1,63,248 total COVID-19 active cases, according to the updated official figure at 8 am.
One patient had migrated.
"Thus, around 53.79 per cent patients have recovered so far," an official said.
The total number of confirmed cases include foreigners.
India registered over 10,000 cases for the eighth day in a row.

With 17 new patients detected, the number of coronavirus cases in the slum-dominated Dharavi area of Mumbai rose to 2,151 on Friday, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) said. One death due to COVID-19 was also reported in the area, which took the death toll to 79, it said.
With 540 new coronavirus patients detected on Friday, the number of coronavirus cases in Gujarat reached 26,198, the state health department said. The death toll due to the pandemic in the state also rose to 1,619 with 27 COVID-19 patients dying, it added.
Ten more coronavirus deaths were reported from Haryana on Friday with eight of the fatalities from the worst-hit Faridabad and Gurgaon districts, while the total number of cases in the state rose to 9,743 with 525 fresh cases.
The number of coronavirus cases in Ahmedabad district rose to 18,258 with 312 new patients reported on Friday, the Gujarat health department said. The district also reported death of 21 COVID-19 patients, taking the total fatalities to 1,296.
With five new COVID fatalities reported on Friday, the total number of deaths due to the deadly virus has increased to 49 in Bihar while count of positive cases spiked to 7290, the state health department said. The state reported 250 fresh positive cases Friday, health departments Secretary Lokesh Kumar Singh said in an official release.
Five COVID-19 patients had recovered earlier. As of now, there are 49 active COVID-19 cases in Sikkim.
Odisha's COVID-19 tally rose to 4,677 with 165 more people, including 11 disaster response personnel and four railway staff, testing positive for the viral infection, a state health department official said on Friday. The state also registered 153 recoveries, taking the total number of patients cured so far to 3,297, which is 70. 49 per cent of the total cases.
Shamli District Magistrate Jasjit Kaur told reporters that 13 cases were reported and a woman patient from the district died in Meerut Medical College where she was referred to from a COVID-designated hospital due to her serious condition.
The superintendent of Tihar Central Jail number 4 has tested positive for coronavirus, officials said on Friday. He complained of fever on June 4 and has been on leave since then. He got tested for the virus on June 11 and the report came positive two days later, a senior jail official said.
Andhra's tally has gone up to 6230 in the last 24 hours, according to the state's health bulletin on Friday. A total of 3069 are active cases. In the past 24 hours, 4 deaths were reported -- 2 in Krishna district and one each in Prakasam and in Srikakulam.
A bench comprising Justices Ashok Bhushan, Sanjay Kishan Kaul and M.R. Shah said that patients and their relatives must get these reports, and asked the state government to review this order. Justice Bhushan said the court has come to know that if a person is found Covid-19 positive, then the test report is not being shared with either the patient or the relatives.

The student had gone to his native Kurnool in Andhra Pradesh and returned on June 15 as he had to write the examination. Kurnool has been a hotbed of COVID-19 and his throat swab sample tested positive there. As the news spread, the administration isolated him at the designated hospital for COVID-19 treatment besides drawing samples for the test afresh. "He is asymptomatic and the results from the laboratory here will arrive by late in the night," informed an official.
The incident, that took place in Kota district of Rajasthan, came to light after a 42-year male suspected Covid-19 patient died and angry relatives blamed the doctors and the duty staff for mismanagement and attacked the resident doctors in the ward. Doctor Varun, who was on duty when the incident happened, has submitted a written complaint to the officials, alleging that the patients' relatives misbehaved with the staff.
A case was registered against the wife of a deceased COVID-19 patient in Maharashtra's Palghar district, for allegedly defying home quarantine orders and travelling to her native place after her husband's death, police said on Friday.

No new cases of COVID-19 were registered in Himachal Pradesh in the last 24 hours, informed the state health department on Friday. The total number of positive cases in the state stands at 595 including 200 active cases. Out of the total, 376 people have recovered and six have died due to the lethal infection, ANI reported.

Twenty-seven people tested positive for COVID-19 in Uttar Pradesh's Mathura district on Thursday, pushing the count to 208, officials said. District Magistrate Sarvagya Ram Mishra said 91 people have recovered from the infection so far, leaving 110 active COVID-19 cases in Mathura. The district has seen seven fatalities due to COVID-19.
The Phase III clinical trials will be carried out at King George's Medical University (KGMU), Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS) and ERA's Lucknow Medical College & Hospital, Lucknow, it added. The drug has a good safety profile and acts by preventing entry of viruses into human cells and also by priming the immune system.
One more COVID-19 fatality was reported in Assam on Thursday, taking the death toll to nine, while the total tally of cases rose to 4,904 with 209 people, including 25 from an Army camp, testing positive for the viral infection, Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said.
