The results of the IIT-JEE (Joint Entrance Examination) Main were declared late on Friday night. The examination was held on April 6.

Candidates who cleared the JEE Main will now be eligible to appear for the JEE-Advanced test, scheduled to be held on May 25.

Candidates who clear the JEE-Advanced test will then compete for the 10,000-plus under-graduate engineering seats available at Indian Institutes of Technology (IIT) across the nation.

Over 1.5 lakh candidates qualified to appear for the JEE-Advanced test out of 13 lakh.  Saurabh Pinjani, a student of the two-year integrated programme from FIITJEE Bangalore Centre, was one of the toppers from Karnataka with a score of 325 out of 360. “I am happy as well as relieved at having scored well in the JEE Main. It is very satisfying to see hard work translating into results. However, we still have the JEE Advanced to go and I will not spare any effort in the few weeks we have for it,” said Pinjani.

Two students from Deeksha Centre for Learning PU College, Parikshit S Hegde and Vishikh Athawale have scored 321 and 319 out of 360, respectively. A total of 219 Ace Academy students have passed the JEE Main and are now eligible to write JEE-Advanced.

The first round of JEE-Main was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE).
