Raising the slogan ‘Venam mattoru Keralam mattoru Indiakkayi’ (Needed, another Kerala for another India), the Kerala Sasthra Sahitya Parishad will organise state-wide ‘Janasamvada yatras’ from Friday.

The marches will simultaneously be flagged off from two places, Cheruvathoor in Kasaragod district and Cheruthoni in Idukki district. The seven-day yatra will conclude on January 23 at Kodungallur in Thrissur district and Vithura in Thiruvananthapuram.

During the yatra, the parishad will conduct workshops and seminars on various subjects at around 500 centres.

Addressing a press meet here on Wednesday, Parishad president N K Sasidharan Pillai said: “The gap between rich and poor has widened considerably and this would create an adverse implications in our society. This problem should be addressed and resolved. The parishad is committed to the overall development and environment conservation in the state.”

Former parishad presidents B Ekbal and P K Raveendran will inaugurate the marches at Cheruvathoor and at Cheruthoni respectively.
