'City is in the Middle Phase of Being Complete'

Bangalore never ceases to amaze me. Right from the time I landed at the Bangalore Railway station 14 years ago, I have embraced the city and its many positives and a few negatives.

If I compare the city with a meal, then unlike other cities where there is a local flavour which overpowers other ingredients, the dish that the city presents has a balance of all spices. And that is the main aspect I love about Bangalore. Its acceptance of everybody, its welcoming nature, its spirit of giving space and a life to all.

Unlike Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata or Hyderabad - where there is a predominance of one culture evident in everyday life - in Bangalore, I have never found any overpowering culture.

Another aspect of the city which I adore is its openness to development. Governance and bureaucracy have definitely been much better than many cities and the investment-friendly atmosphere that is rich in the air of Bangalore is indeed a positive sign that it is not far from becoming a global city.

People coming from all parts of the country and world, bringing in varied talents has definitely helped and made the city one of the most preferred destination of foreign companies to come. I am sure, if there is a survey done, Bangalore will top the list in terms of favourable working conditions as well as in terms of abundance of rich human resources.

One more positive side of the city is its harmonious existence with culture which one can find in different parts of the city, quietly existing with the fast paced growth.

Alas, it is a time when Bangalore is in the middle of development and so, it is obvious that there will be potholes, power outages, water scarcity, traffic issues and more. But I treat them as part of a phase which will be passe, pretty soon.

I am sure, when my children grow up, they will be living in a city, which is complete.
