With 'Dandupalya', director Srinivas set a trend in the Kannada industry by doing a different kind of a film without big stars. The latest report has shown that the film has witnessed numerous repeat audience.
“Nobody can stop if the audience decides to make it a success,” he says confidently.
The director is now pretty much in demand by not one but at least 10 producers, who want him to kick start 'Dandupalya 2' immediately.
“I have been bombarded with calls from various filmmakers that I should start work on 'Dandupalya 2' leaving aside my other projects,”says Srinivas, who is ready with the script and waiting for Pooja Gandhi to return from Kochi.
“My next project was 'Ranganayaki' with Pooja and I also had an old commitment with super star Upendra. But since I have been getting requests from people to start with 'Dandupalya 2', I have to check with Pooja whether she is okay, if I postpone her film. If she has the patience to wait, I will start working on this film. I can make an announcement only after discussing with the actress,” he said.
The 2nd part will not be a sequel but a parallel story of part I. “I will go back to the year 1995 with 'Dandupalya 2' also. I want to make it bigger and better and I have approached Manoj Bajpai for an important role,” he says.
