The astrologers, palmists and even numerologists are having a field day in West Bengal, courtesy the Lok Sabha elections. Cutting across party lines the contestants have been making a beeline for the stargazers in their desperation to know the poll prospects. And it is the horoscope of West Bengal Chief Minister and Trinamool Congress chief Mamata Banerjee, which has generated the maximum interest. Her date of birth, according to the Lok Sabha records is January 5, 1955.

However, the astrologers are divided over Didi’s fate in the aftermath of the Lok Sabha elections and her likely role in the formation of the new government.

Many of them feel that the way the TMC’s fortunes, which had been on the ascent since the 2009 Lok Sabha polls, will continue to rise in the forthcoming polls. But almost all the astrologers here were united in their view that BJP poster boy Narendra Modi will be the country’s next Prime Minister. “It is a foregone conclusion and is just a matter of time,” said one of them.

Also, a sizable section among the astrologers predicted that Modi would lead an alliance government, with support from the parties which were not part of the BJP-led NDA. More importantly, they said Mamata would finally join the Modi Cabinet despite campaigning against him now.

According to astrologer Debashish Sen, “Mamata’s horoscope shows that her present planetary positions are extremely favourable as ‘Rahu’ is in a good place”.

“This position will remain till May-end. Rahu in sixth place from Moon indicates victory in any competition or contest. It is why I am confident about her success,” he said.

Further, Deb observed that Mamata was undergoing the period of Saturn with  sub-period of Venus, which would continue till January 5. “This period brings contacts and success to those in the acting profession and artists,” he said.

With Tollywood stars among its Lok Sabha candidates, the forecast is sure to gladden the TMC hearts.

Sen managed to procure the date and time of birth of former CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharya. “He is undergoing a period of Mercury,” he said.
