India stock index futures signal lower open

Indian equities are likely to open lower tracking mixed global markets on Friday, April 25, 2014. SGX Nifty trading at 6,886 (08.07 am), 20 points lower than Thursday's close of 6,906.

Asian stocks are trading mixed in early trade on Friday. Japanese benchmark index Nikkei 225 fell 0.24% to open at 14,369.72. China's Shanghai Composite opened up by 0.17% at 2,060.54.

US stock markets closed higher on Thursday. The Dow Jones Industrial Average remained unchanged to settle at 16,501.65. NASDAQ 100 index rose 33.99 points or 0.96 percent to close at 3,591.03. The broader S&P 500 index went up 3.22 points or 0.17 percent to end at 1,878.61.

European stock markets closed higher on Thursday. Europe's leading Blue-chip index, EURO STOXX 50 gained 13.84 points or 0.43 percent to settle at 3,189.81. UK's benchmark index FTSE 100 went up 28.26 points or 0.42 percent to close at 6,703.00. Germany's benchmark index DAX went up 4.49 points or 0.05 percent to end at 9,548.68. French benchmark index CAC 40 went up 28.46 points or 0.64 percent to end at 4,479.54.

Crude oil prices closed higher in futures market on Thursday. Light sweet crude oil (WTI) futures rose 0.50 dollar or 0.49 percent to close at USD 101.94 a barrel at the New York-based commodity exchange NYMEX. Brent crude oil futures went up 1.22 dollar or 1.12 percent to close at USD 110.33 a barrel at NYMEX.
