Rs 70 Cap On Cable Bill to be Strictly enforced: Govt

The State government on Saturday warned the LCO and MSO operators under the Tamil Nadu Arasu Cable TV Corporation not to collect more than Rs 70 per month from  subscribers and issue only the receipt provided by the Corporation to the subscribers.

“Stern action will be taken against those who fail to adhere to these conditions.  This will come into effect from February 5,” an official release here said.

The Cable TV Corporation will issue receipt books to the operators through the district deputy managers according to the number of the subscribers they have.  The government said the operators should not use any receipt other than that provided by the Corporation.

If the subscribers have any complaint in this regard, they can lodge it with the deputy manager at the district level or send an e-mail to: or they can call the number o44-28221233 and lodge their complaints.  Besides, they can fax their complaints to the number: 044-28253021.

Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa had launched the Arasu Cable TV Corporation’s services on September 2, 2011 in all districts of Tamil Nadu except Chennai. On October 20, 2012, she had inaugurated the Corporation’s services in Chennai too.  At present, 24,706 LCOs and MSOs have registered with the Corporation and through them the Corporation at present has  65.62 lakh subscribers.
