As part of the cultural fest of the College of Engineering Trivandrum (CET), the students this year started off the promotional events with a huge sand sculpture on the Shanghumugham beach the other day. This was followed by a cleaning drive in the city post the Attukal Pongala on the very same day, which the students of CET enthusiastically took up.

“We were even complimented by the Health Minister and the Mayor for the commendable job,” says Vivek student convener of Dhwani. “Unlike the usual flash mob that happens we arranged a flash make over in three parts of the city mainly, Palayam, Thampanoor and the General Hospital area. We went to these places took up an area and cleaned the space and walls painted them and gave them a whole new look,” said Vivek.

Apart from all this, Dhwani will also have awareness programmes in association with the government. One is Mrithasanjeevini a government organ donation awareness programme. We will set up information kiosks in the college as part of the fest. And to create awareness we will have short films and street plays promoting organ donation, he says. The  fest will also promote awareness against narcotics and drugs, in association with the Youth Welfare Association.
