Her ardor to prove herself braving all odds  seems to have worked. Abhinaya, who is making her debut innings in Mollywood with ‘The Reporter’, has her kitty full. She plays the lead role in the upcoming Gautham Menon produced Tamil flick and has another romantic comedy directed by Anbu Stalin on the way. The lovely actor has at least three Telugu projects also in the pipeline.

Differently-abled Abhinaya, who shot to fame post ‘Nadodigal’, had a flair for acting from her childhood. Her father Anand Varma who speaks for her says, “Abhinaya is considering acting as her profession since many good roles are coming her  way. Though, she appears to be  calm and collected, she is quite ambitious and is eager to do more challenging roles.”

In the Gautham Menon produced ‘Tamilselvanum Thaniyar Anjalum’, directed by newbie Prem Sai, who had earlier assisted Prabhudeva, Abhinaya plays a lively character. The film will feature Jai, VTV Ganesh and Santhanam. The buzz is that if the film is well received, it will be followed by its sequels  ‘Tamilselvanum Varuvaithuraiyum’ and ‘Tamilselvanum Podhupanithuraiyum’. In the other Tamil flick ‘Mela Thalam’ of Anbu Stalin, the shoot of which is progressing,  Abhinaya plays the lead heroine. Nischala Krishna is her hero in the movie.

In ‘Genius’ the Telugu movie directed by Omkar, who has achieved fame in Andhrapradesh for his television reality shows, Abhinaya shares screen space with Mollywood actor Sanusha. “She plays a Muslim character and her role in the movie is gripping,” says Anand Varma. In ‘Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu’, directed by Srikanth Addala, she plays the sister of Telugu superstars Venkatesh and Mahesh Babu.

Abhinaya’s latest release is the Telugu movie ‘Dhammu’, which released last month and is running successfully in the theatres. This two time Filmfare award recipient yearns to act more in Malayalam, says her father. In ‘The Reporter’, directed by Venugopal, Abhinaya appears as a teacher who teaches differently-abled children. Kailash is her hero and  Samudrakani and Ananya are the other actors.

The movie, a thriller in genre, was earlier slated to release last month, but has been postponed owing to some technical reasons. “The film is expected to be a great beginning for Abhinaya in Mollywood. She is more eager to act in Malayalam films, since they give more priority to story,” says Anand Varma.
